LAVOIE Series 1 e-scooter
Lead design engineer at urban mobility startup LAVOIE. Responsible for the overall mechanical design of LAVOIE’s flagship product, the Series 1 electric scooter.
Mechanical design
Designed the primary surfaces and main folding kinematics. The folding system utilizes a four bar linkage combined with dual automotive grade positive locking latches for redundancy. This results in an increased folding factor and a quick deployment from the scooter’s folded position. All aspects of the design are informed with over a decade of experience in aerospace mechanical design, culminating in a state of the art, safe and reliable personal transport.
Visualization
Produced early stage product visualizations to iterate on stylistic choices. Renders, still images, product animation, as well as video are used to produce content for both product and brand development.
Attention to detail
Beyond mechanical and surface modeling, the Series 1 was designed with special attention to user touchpoints and careful material selection, in order to achieve an elevated user experience
Colors Materials Finishes
Developed the colors and materials and overall visual language of the scooter in collaboration with design house CALLUM.
